Accreditation
Fact sheet about becoming APR certified through PRSA.
APR is a mark of distinction for public relations professionals
who demonstrate their commitment to the profession and to
its ethical practice, and who are selected based on broad
knowledge, strategic perspective, and sound professional judgment.
To be eligible to take the APR test, a member must have five
years of full-time public relations experience or have taught
or administered public relations at an accredited college
or university for five years. The national PRSA Web site offers more information on the exam.
The Accreditation Committee of the local chapter sponsors
an APR preparatory course, which is offered both as a study
mechanism and as a valuable professional development opportunity
for all members. For information on local accreditation activities,
contact Margaret Sanders.
